My birthday at Heatherdale

This year instead of doing my usual party party party I decided to spend my 22nd birthday with the kids at Heatherdale.

I started the day off with some art and crafts supplied by House of Crafts www.houseofcraft.co.za or visit their Facebook page House of Crafts.

The kids enjoyed a morning session of Art and crafts and it really started the day of on a good foot because we got to bond and get to know some of the kids.

The kids had fun, and it was something to remember us by.

A few years ago I would have never have thought that I would be celebrating my birthday with kids from Heatherdale, but it was worth it and I am now making it my goal to celebrate it every year with kids in need. I realized that no matter how down and out you may be there is always someone who is worse off.

After the art & crafts we went off to play on the jumping castle, soccer, cricket and some swimming. And our own mini photo shoot.

What can I say, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. To the kids faces light up and have them sing to me, was the highlight of my day.

I would like to thank all my friends and family and Jarryds family for spending my 22 birthday with the kids at Heatherdale Children's Home.

I would also like to thank New Kidz because if it wasn't for them allowing me to do a makeover at Heatherdale, I would never have met these sweet little kids.

As I write this post I think about my beloved Aunty Rashieda Khan née Abrahams who passed away just 3 days after our birthday and because of her my birthday was more special as we both love kids so much and even though she was stuck in bed fighting for her life, she would've been there with us.

Happy Birthday to us 11th Jan 2014

Hope my birthday post has inspired you to good rememeber that you should always give to charity, but not just money,  give your time too.

Till next time...
