My Birthday Wish List

As my 22nd birthday slowly approaches, I start thinking to myself what do I have to be thankful for and how I have grown into a women.

Every year that goes by I like to reflect on the year before my birthday. Yes my birthday is only in January and no I am not running out of topics to talk about.

This year started off with bang as I met Infected Mushroom and Skazi at The One World Festival.

Then came my birthday, with so many thanks and praises to my mom and friends for been there for me through thick and thin. Who have been there for me when my granny passed away, when I was diagnosed with Bipolar and when I never knew where i was going with my life.

This year has been a roller coaster for me, dealing with going back to college and studying, starting by blog, coming out about having Bipolar and finding out that my aunt's cancer has taken a turn for the worst and then finding out my legend is coming to Cape Town.

lets start with meeting the guy of my dreams I met Jarryd Bont one night at Side Show and fell head over heels for him. together for almost 7 months and already i know his the guy I'm going to spend the rest of my life with.

Then came the deferring my course till further notice.

I have always wanted to start my own business and when opportunity arrived i took a leap of faith and went to register my business. Yes I said it I am now a proud owner of my own company.

you can visit my website: www.houseofcraft.co.za

My online store will be launched by the 1st December and I am so excited to finally start selling.

This project has taken a lot of time, hard work, tears and sweat. and i really hope that everyone will enjoy it as much as I have while designing and working on the concept.

So back to the actual topic, My Birthday Wish list:

1. A pair of Jimmy Choo heels
2. An Iphone 5s
3. New lingerie
4. That everyone I love and who is alive can share my special day.

My birthday is the 11th January and everyone can start saving money!!

Yes, we got our Eminem tickets which is one of my birthday presents and cannot believe I going to see my Idol Live in action.

till next time...

Eminem

After hearing the news that my hero is setting his feet in the mother city, I had to get my hands on a ticket.

Four as long as I can remember I have been listening to Eminem, My brother used to decorate our room walls with Eminem posters and we had a stack of Eminem cd's just stacked in a row. My brother who is now 30 has been listening to Eminem since 1999 and that time I was spice girls and Britney Spears crazy. Until I couldn't find any of my cd's in the car while out with mom and I found the cd of Eminem and played it, to my surprise I loved it and my love for Eminem grew stronger.

My brother started drilling the lyrics in my brain at just 10 years old. I slowly continued to flow Eminem and started listening to his underground music as well.

I have all of his Albums:

The Slim Shady Lp
The Marshall Mathers Lp
The Enimen Show
Encore
Relapse
Recovery
The Marshall Mathers Lp2

I have all his concerts:

Anger Management Tour
The Home & Home Tour
Lose Yourself Tour
The Recovery Tour
Up In smoke Tour

we own 8 mile The movie that came out in 2002 and received an Academy award for the best original song which made Eminem the first rapper ever win that award.

And Eminem's autobiography. which I only dream he would one day autograph.

Eminem is a 13 time grammy and oscar winner, he has sold over 86 million albums, scanned 120 singles and 2.5 billion online views. The King of Hip Hop.

So why write this post? Because I have been trending for over a year on facebook and twitter and even instagram that Eminem should come to Cape Town. I have spoken to event companies and told them that Eminem would be the best thing this Country would ever see.

I mean Eminem is in a league of his own. His Artist of the decade and his a living legend. His music is so deep and its not about how much bitches he can get, or about how much money he makes. His Lyrics are personal.

Till today I remain a true Eminem Fan.

So when people start talking and saying I don't know any of his songs or own any of his albums, I will laugh it off.

I always told my mom I will never pay for concert until Eminem comes down to South Africa and that's exactly what I did.

So the next post about Eminem will be after the Rapture Tour.
I got my tickets and Im starting prep my clothes as I'm designing and making it myself.

P.S Thank You Showtime Management for finally bringing Eminem to Cape Town. You have made mine and my brothers dream come true.

October Fest

October is one of my favorite months of the year. Because it's just one month closer to Thanks Giving, Christmas, New Years and my birthday. My cousin Fatima left for America to start her Aupair in America program and we went to see her off. She's in Washington Dc and I can't wait till she's there long enough that we can visit her.

At the Airport Mugg and Bean before her next chapter began.

My moms birthday is on the 30 and she turned 48 which which means my mom is just 27 years older then me and 18 years older than my brother. Kind of cool having a mom who is young and energetic. My mom went for simple this year as she has a lot on her plate at the moment but she took time out of her day to go collect mine and Jarryd's Halloween costume for the Shimmy Beach Club Halloween Party.

My Role Model, my Inspiration, my best friend, My Mom Fatima Abrahams

On Halloween we went to Shimmy Beach Club, I still wish we could be as crazy and fun as a America for Halloween and go truck or treating and people actually dress up and not only wear the ears etc.

We went with friends and enjoyed ourselves but it was still missing that true American costume and fun.

Even though Shimmy wasn't what we expected, it was fun because we were with fun, entertaining people.

Rita devil, Avatar and myself a sailor

The Captain of my Ship and his Sailor

           The Devil and The Sailor

We hired our costumes from Theaterland in Plumstead and make up was done by Rita Chang.

Review: Aldo Shoes

The Aldo Group (corporately styled "ALDO") is a private Canadian corporation that owns and operates a worldwide chain of shoe and accessory stores. The company was founded by Aldo Bensadoun in MontrealQuebec, in 1972, where its corporate headquarters remain today. It has grown to become a worldwide corporation, with nearly 1,600 stores under four retail banners: Aldo, Call It Spring/Spring, Little Burgundy and Globo. Stores in Canada, the US, the UK, and Ireland are owned by the Group, while international stores are franchised. The company once operated the now closed or re-branded banners Simard & Voyer, Christian Shoes, Access, Pegabo, Transit, Stoneridge, Locale, Feetfirst and FIRST (which was the American version of Feetfirst). On March 13, 2012, the Aldo Group signed on with Madonna to produce the Truth or Dare by Madonna fashion line. This footwear was launched in August 2012, at Macy'sNordstrom, Selfridges, ASOS.com, The Bay, Little Burgundy and Capezio.(Adapted from Wikipedia)

I personally own about 10 pairs and the collection is still growing. Aldo is not only evolving with the times but also their prices are not to steep either.

If you going for seasonal fashion and your budget doesn't meet Aldo's prices then I suggest you shop somewhere more affordable but if you going for something that is timeless then Aldo is definitely the store for you.

Their customer service is impeccable and their employees make it an effort to get to know you and your style.

 This seasons must have..

Another on of this seasons must haves

Child Stars Role Models or Not?

This topic has been spoken about freely for years.

Childhood celebrities who we all admired when we were young, some may not have taken a turn for the worse but what about the ones who have?

From sweet, innocent to smoking weed
                 and popping ecstasy and twerking.

From having her own television show
named after her to been arrested
                     for DUI and drugs

From playing twins in Parents trap to a
leading Role in Mean Girls to
been anorexic and a drug addict

Destined to be a pop star
to marrying her back up dancer, having
3 kids and having a break down and
                  been diagnosed "Bipolar"

What has the entertainment industry done to them? This is all overwhelming when they are spoken about and mocked and followed, don't get me wrong, many of the ones who lost the plot turn their lives around and continue doing what they do best.

Some doesn't go astray but what about the ones our kids admire today? e.g Miley Cyrus? Hannah Montana still plays on Disney Channel even though she hung up that towel a while ago? she's got tweens wanting to be just like her and she's going around stating that she likes weed and ecstasy.

So we shouldn't really be judging but if you want to be in the spot light I'm sure there's ways in keeping your personal life out of the news. e.g don't advertise that you that drugs, don't be caught doing drugs.

One day when I have children of my own i am really going to choose wisely about what they can watch and what they cant.

Till next time...

Review: Caledon Hotel, Casino and Spa

Caledon Hotel, Casino and Spa also known as Natures Spa situated on N2 National Road just 113km outside of Cape Town.

The drive to Caledon is about an hour, with beautiful majestic views of the over berg mountains and the lakes as you cross Sir lowrys Pass, with Henk and Azax Syndrom playing on full blast, Jarryd and I jamming to tunes as we drove to one of Western Cape's 4 star hotels.

With a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival at the hotel entrance to the friendly and sweet room service waitresses. Caledon is definitely a little piece of paradise. With excitement building up inside myself, I could not wait to go and relax in the hot springs.

The first night we spoilt ourselves to a diner at the black sheep, which to my surprise our bill came to less then R200 and the food was amazing. With Jarryd opting for a burger and chips which he thoroughly enjoyed and me having a prawn salad which was not only fresh but very well prepared in a timely manner and very good presented dishes.

Waking up the next morning in Caledon with the sun shinning through the curtains, it was time for a full English buffet breakfast, which was nothing less then perfect. With breakfast done and dusted it was of to the rock pools for a swim.

Buzzing with an audience of all ages, Jarryd and I decided to book ourselves for a couples spa treatment. The ladies done an amazing job, with 30 minutes of massaging with the hot stone treatment and then another 30 minutes dedicated to a natural body scrub, ending with Jarryd and I in the sauna.

After our afternoon nap, it was time for diner at the DA Vinci which was buzzing with an audience of cancer survivors who have just arrived at the hotel for a conference which they had at the hotel the next morning. Our food wasn't as prompt and punctual as it was the night before but it was delicious. As it was our last night in Caledon I decided I wanted to be a child again and off to Wonderland we went where we played games till closing time. Jarryd hates to admit it but I kicked his ass in the games, yes I am a very competitive person.

As we kissed each other goodnight for the last night in Caledon, it dawned upon me that even though it was short lived for our well deserved break, it was the first time that Jarryd and I were actually on our own, not working, not with friends just me and him. I never ever doubted my feelings for Jarryd but this short break away from everyone just the two of us really showed me how much we do need our own quality time together and he realised it as well which now also means that we will be setting time for just myself and him to grow as a couple.

                  The beautiful view

             The Victorian Bath which was
                 34' degrees Celsius

The cold water pool which was
directly outside of our hotel room

With water coming from the mountain
              starting  at 60' degrees Celsius
decreasing in heat the closer it gets to
                  tip of the mountain.

The coldest pool out of all the pools
                    at 22' degrees Celsius

In my opinion I score Caledon Hotel, Casino and Spa a 9/10

It would have been a 10 but because of the slow service at DA Vinci my scoring has dropped.

A place filled with fun and activities for all ages. Be it a family getaway or a romantic one. Caledon Spa is definitely on the top of my list.

Till next time...
